I have extensive experience and training child development and impact of trauma, neglect and abuse as I started my psychotherapy practice working in therapeutic residential children’s homes (between the ages of 4 and 18).
Not only have I worked with children and young people, but I also offering individual and group consultation to the teams around the child (Therapeutic Parents, Care Staff, Life Story Practitioners, Teachers, and Teaching Assistants).
I work with attachment disorders, complex developmental trauma, neurodiversity and many other mental health diagnosis. I am informed by the latest interpersonal neurobiology and neuroscience as well as research and studies within the attachment and human development.
I offer consultation and reflective practice forums to other professionals, parents/carers to support their children and young people with complex histories or going through difficult times.
Consultation and professional support for professionals and families
I offer consultation to health, educational and social professionals to develop their understanding of children with complex histories, presentation and behaviour.
Through consultation sessions, professionals are able to plan and develop tailored strategies and ways of working with the children and young people they work with.
I offer consultation to parents, carers and families to help them understand and strengthen relationships with their children.
We discuss and explore the development of efficient strategies and coping skills to lead to a happier family life.
